Divorce Is Stressful. Online Divorce Mediation Makes It More Convenient.

Divorce mediation removes some of that stress. What if you and your spouse have agreed on mediation, but simply don’t want to be in the same room? You can both be “on screen” in the virtual meeting with your divorce mediator, but you don’t have to see each other face-to-face. Hey, we get it and that’s why we are pleased to offer Online Divorce Mediation services.

How Does Online Divorce Mediation Work?

For your convenience, online divorce mediation is conducted via telephone or online meeting software. (The software is free for you to download.) Online divorce mediation allows you to choose the best divorce mediator, regardless of location.

To begin the process, schedule a no-cost consultation.

Testimonials

“I knew going into my divorce that a great attorney was essential. what I found to be even more important though was having a seasoned professional who understood the financial aspects and future implications of our legal decisions. Leah was able to take our combined assets, make recommendations based on our agreement and provide a detailed division that took away all of the financial stress and worry. In hindsight, I wish we would have met with Leah first; it would have saved us time and simplified the divorce process.”

Abby

"What most impressed me about Leah is her ability to make financial planning to be an easy and ‘painless’ task. She has a very simple process to help one think about their needs for the future and a clear system on what to do to achieve those goals. So if you’re like me and want a clear, concise plan that is easy to follow with personalized service, Leah is sure to deliver, while keeping her client’s best interest at heart."

Susie

Why should you choose Divorce Mediation, either online or in person?

  1. It is confidential. The agreements are made outside of a courtroom and help you maintain privacy.
  2. It costs substantially less than working through the courts and with attorneys.
  3. It helps you work with your soon-to-be-ex spouse to come up with a parenting arrangement for your children and limits potential complications.

Why Should I Use Online Divorce Mediation?

There are myriad reasons to choose Online Divorce Mediation. One of the biggest ones is you’ve found a mediator you want to work with, but he or she is not local or even in the same state where you live. Technology allows you to work with the divorce mediator of your choice with boundaries no longer being a factor.

The flexibility of Online Divorce Mediation is virtually limitless.

Who Will Be Our Online Divorce Mediator?

Online or in-person divorce mediation will be provided by Leah Hadley-Villalobos, founder and president of Great Lakes Divorce Financial Solutions. Leah is a trained Mediator, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) and a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF). She is committed to helping her clients transition through divorce as painlessly as possible and provides that services both online and in person.

What Happens During An Online Divorce Mediation Meeting?

We begin the mediation just as we would an in-person mediation. I review what mediation is and what mediation is not. We discuss what brought you to mediation and what you are hoping to accomplish. Once the foundation is in place, we discuss each of the issues that need to be addressed. In terms of making decisions, you go at your own pace. I provide education around some of the issues and may encourage you to get advice from an attorney on others. Nobody is rushed into making any decisions but each party is encouraged to give serious thought to why a particular proposal is or is not acceptable.

If you’re “meeting” virtually you will be able to see Leah and your spouse on the screen through free meeting software.

Is Online Divorce Mediation Right For Me?

You are probably the best one to answer that question. If you are comfortable with technology and have a good internet connection, you may appreciate the flexibility of online mediation.

If the idea of being in the same room as your spouse stresses you out, you may feel more comfortable doing the session from the comfort of your own home.

However, if you are uncomfortable with technology or are uncertain about your internet connection, I would discourage it. Remember, when going through mediation, you want a clear head. You'll be making important decisions. If the technology ends up being a distraction then that's a problem.

On the flip side, if technology reduces the stress, I would encourage you to give it a try. Would you like to discuss if it's right for you? Give me a call.
